The Vision:
September is a contemplative month. We’re surveying our inner landscape and taking inventory of self-concept wins and losses. August’s outer planet transits (like the Mars-Saturn square) put many of us through the wringer and we’ve emerged shaken, but stronger. New recruits marching forward, freshly shorn of our cozy, suffocating wool.
This month is marked by Mercury’s retrograde through Libra from September 9th to October 2nd, a transit that will make us nostalgic for past relationships. Mercury rules Virgo season, so this effect is heightened. I’m hearing Babyface - When Can I See You Again and Gotye - Somebody That I Used to Know. The “You” and “Somebody” in question can be an ex-lover or friend, but most likely they point to a previous version of yourself. Venus in Virgo agrees and begs you to edit - please cut the cords that have kept you playing small.
The full moon in Pisces on the 10th aligns with hazy Neptune and blurs the lines between self and other ~ self and environment. Give extra love to your immune system that day and ground, ground, ground. The new moon in Libra on the 25th asks you to revisit your experience and expression of sexuality and gender. You are the only alchemist of your love life.
Perhaps your life is moving forward and you’re more confused than ever (hearing Toro y Moi - Who I Am). Know that freedom is as invigorating as it is terrifying. No matter how we’ve suffered under another’s rule, part of living is easier when there’s someone else to blame. How we can coo and pine when we’re waiting to be saved. Taurus - Is there a coach or counselor you could reach out to now? You could use some fresh perspective or simply an encouraging word. Asking for this is neither greedy nor indulgent.
Gemini -Turn on those listening ears. Lean into curiosity and tighten up your filter. With Mars moving through your sign, it’s best to consider your words carefully.
Cancer - If a fresh idea has come to you, grab hold. Wrest it into life like the sword in the stone, or an arrow made powerful by the bow only you hold. You were given this insight for a reason.
